Fitness has always been an important part of my life. I grew up in a neighbourhood where friendly sports competition was part of my daily recreation. The schools I attended also encouraged participation in team sport, from all grade levels, to promote leadership and self-confidence.
When I discovered weight training in my early twenties, I immediately fell in love. My interest piqued and my self-esteem skyrocketed when I witnessed the improvements that resistance training had on my overall physique as I felt my strength increasing. All I wanted to do was research, experiment and learn all that I could about the human body, different exercise techniques, and the various forms of fitness.
Today, I am not only a fully-insured and Certified Personal Trainer; I am also certified in First Aid and CPR through the Canadian Red Cross and Toronto EMS. On top of that, I have taken my education further, earning my Physiotherapist Assistant Diploma from CDI College in Toronto. My passion for fitness helped me realize that I want to help a wider variety of people, including post rehab patients and athletes with specific athletic conditioning. During my clinical placement at a sports medicine centre in Kitchener, Ontario, I assisted physiotherapists and athletic therapists with patient rehabilitation, and gained valuable experience training those with injuries or physical limitations.
My fitness portfolio also includes formal Pilates training under
the Stott ® Pilates method. Through Pilates, I can further enhance
the life and well-being of my clients by adding variety and balance
to the workouts I create. In addition to infusing Pilates into individual
workouts, I also offer private, semi-private and group Pilates classes.
